Nancy for About page

I have been working as a holistic nutrition consultant, traditional naturopath and registered herbalist in my community of California’s lovely Southern Humboldt & Northern Mendocino counties since 1995. More and more people from other areas are requesting phone consultations, so through this site, I am making myself available to people who can’t see me in person.

I began my interest in natural health as an 8-year old, when, in 1954, my mother & I moved from Berkeley, CA to a small town in Mexico, San Miguel de Allende. I became a student of herbal medicinal teas at the side of the mothers of my friends, who would dose us with brews that would allay out tummy aches, colds, and flus. I became a back-to-the-land homesteader in my early 20’s, growing and preserving much of my young family’s food- organically of course! Through my 30’s, 40’s, 50’s & 60’s, and now 70’s, I have continued to have a passion for understanding health! At 50, I enrolled in a 2 year holistic nutrition program at Bauman College, and followed that with 2 years of studying with the California College of Natural Medicine, as well as becoming a registered herbalist through the American Herbalist Guild. I have enjoyed being both a student & teacher at the Northern California Women’s Herbal Symposium, attending since its inception in 1991.

Clients often come to me with complex health issues and we work together to identify the root causes. I have experience working with a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to adrenal fatigue, thyroid imbalances, gastrointestinal rebalancing, identifying gluten, casein & other specific food issues, toxic element chelation, liver support, dietary support for cancer & auto-immune issues, herbal & nutrient support for Lyme & co-infections, imbalances contributing to mental health issues, histamine intolerance, and more.
